Martin County anglers compete at state

Martin County High School Bass Fishing angler duos Jerrod Haney and Brayden Blankenship and Caleb Horn and Tanner Young competed in the KHSAA State Bass Fishing Tournament May 11-13 at Kentucky Lake.

A total of 90 boats hit the water for a two-day tournament.

Horn and Young, in boat No. 75, finished 48th. They snagged five fish weighing 10 pounds, 9 ounces.

Haney and Blankenship, in boat 66, finished 71st. They reeled in three fish weighing 6 pounds, 3 ounces.

“I am proud of all these boys,” Martin County coach Brent Haney said. “They represented our school well. Now on to the BASS state tournament on Barren.”
