The Kiwanis Club is challenging local businesses to build and display scarecrows to celebrate the return of the annual Kiwanis Harvest Festival. Scarecrows should be on display through the month of September for the 5th Annual Scarecrow Stroll.

The scarecrows have become a wonderful addition to fall celebrations in the county and Kiwanis wants to continue their tradition and the cheer they bring.

This year, Kiwanis is expanding the scarecrow fun to include the whole county, businesses and residents.

There will be two contests, one for businesses and one for residential entries. Each entry will need to submit a photo of their scarecrow for voting on Facebook.

Please send your photos to Greater Martin County Kiwanis Club through Facebook messenger, or email them to: kiwanisharvestfestinezky@gmail.com.

Voting will begin Sept. 12 and conclude at 2 p.m. Sept. 17.

The Golden Scarecrow (for the business contest) will be awarded Saturday, Sept. 17. The Residential Contest winners will also be announced.

Don’t forget to include pumpkins in your display this year as the Harvest Festival celebrates “The Great Pumpkin Harvest.”
