BOWLING GREEN — Boo Newsome was named to the Mid-South Conference 2022 All-Conference First Team May 1 for the fourth time in her career.

Newsome has four wins this season to give her 16 in her University of Pikeville career. She finished in the top three in all but one tournament. She has also been named Mid-South Conference Player of the Week a conference-best five times this season.

Heading into the Mid-South Conference Championship Tournament, Boo had an adjusted scoring average of 75.82. She shot a career-best round of 68 in the first tournament of the season held at StoneCrest Golf Course, which is the second-best round in program history. She shot a 142 at the same tournament, which is also second in program history over 36 holes. Her 224 at the Indiana Wesleyan University Fall Invitational tied her for the best 54-hole score in program history.

UPIKE finished up the Mid-South Conference Championships May 2 in sixth place. They shot 992 as a team (326, 334, 332), which is the fifth-best 54-hole score in program history.

Newsome led the team individually with an overall score of 228 (76, 79, 73).
