MCHS JAG KY wins at state competition

Martin County’s State Winners for the 2022 JAG KY State Career Development Conference.

INEZ — Martin County High School JAG KY students earned a place in national competition after taking top awards in the JAG KY State Career Development Competition held virtually March 22.

Two days of intense competitive events at the CDC and a year of hard work and dedication culminated in the Cardinals representing in style.

Students were assigned competition times for which they had to log in via Zoom with judges in various events. After an exciting round of competitions, the Cardinals finished first in six categories, second in two categories and third in one category. Results were as follows:

Public Speaking – first place, Kaylee Harless.

Essay – first place, Bailey Dials.

Career Preparation – first place, Anesa Blanton.

Employability Skills – second place, Kaitlyn Gauze.

Project-based Learning Showcase – first place Jayla Dials, Jaylee Deskins, Emily McMillan, Wesley Young and alternate Addison Sweeney.

Creative Decision Making — first place, Sophie McCoy, Hannah Muncy, Savannah Jo Young and Jonathan Allen.

Service Learning – third place, MCHS Veterans Day Project.

Promotional Video – first place, MCHS Chapter.

National Career Association Outstanding Chapter – second place, MCHS (Baily Dials, Sara Davis, Chloe Mills, Alexis Hale, Hailey Damron, Kaylee Harless, Hannah Muncy).
