INEZ — Martin County Tourism is bringing a 30×60 synthetic outdoor ice skating rink to this year’s Christmas in the Mountains Festival. The board announced plans for the attraction in a meeting last week.

Sponsorship will determine the number of days the ice skating rink will be in Inez, as the cost would be a little over $5,000 for three days or $10,000 for three weeks.

“We would love for the kids to get to use it,” board member Linda Lou Webb said. “If we have it for three weeks, we could do a week and a half before the festival and a week and a half after the festival, or a week before and two weeks after. Our festival is really early, so there’s still a couple of weeks till Christmas.”
