INEZ — Martin County junior Madden Miller is the Mountain Citizen Player of the Week.
Miller rushed for 104 yards on 17 carries and found the end zone four times in a brilliant performance Oct. 6 at Shelby Valley.
Miller’s first touchdown was an 18-yard run down the right sideline in the first quarter.
The next Miller touchdown was a 4-yard run after he pushed through the line.
On third-and-5, Miller received the handoff and fired straight through the middle to hit paydirt from 30 yards out for his third touchdown.
He lept through multiple defenders for his fourth TD of the night.
Last week, Miller ranked sixth in Class 2A in the state in tackles, averaging 11.5 per game, with 66 total (25 solo, 44 assisted, three for a loss).
The standout also ranked third in defensive fumbles, having forced three in six games.
Miller rankings this week were unknown at presstime Tuesday as the KHSAA had not yet received Thursday’s Martin County game stats.
