Ernie Ray Fields

1959—2022

Ernie Ray Fields, 63, of Kermit, W.Va., passed away Friday, Oct. 7, 2022, at his home.

Born April 20, 1959, in Williamson, W.Va., he was the son of the late Tiney and Dicie Fields.

Ernie is survived by his loving wife, Madeline Fields of Kermit, W.Va.; two daughters, Julie Fields of South Williamson and Brandy (Dewey) Clay of Kermit, W.Va.; and four grandchildren, Brayden Clay, Brysen Clay, Jacquline Fields and Enlexi Fields. He is also survived by one sister, Thelma Spaulding of Columbus, Ohio, and a nephew, Chip Russell of Morris, Ill.

Per Mr. Fields’ wishes, the family held a graveside service Sunday, Oct. 9, 2022, at Big Jim Branch Cemetery on Jennies Creek, with Freddie Messer officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
