INEZ — Martin County High School volleyball dropped four games last week, snapping their three-game winning streak Sept. 12 at Tug Valley.
The Lady Cards went head-to-head with the Panthers. The first four sets were split so a fifth deciding set was needed.
After a back and forth between the teams, Tug Valley pulled out the win in the third set 15-11.
The team traveled to Prestonsburg and were defeated in three straight sets Sept. 13.
On Thursday, the Cards hosted Pike Central and were looking to bounce back. They won the first set 25-20.
The Hawks evened up the match, winning the second set 25-11.
Martin County kept it close and only lost in the last two 21-25 and 20-25.
The Cardinals hosted a top 5 team in the region Saturday. Pikeville boasts a 9-6 record.
The Panthers thought they were going to come in and obliterate Martin County.
The Cards kept the lead for two sets and only faltered in the last stanza.
