MARTIN COUNTY — Laura Hale of the Martin County High School soccer team continues to rattle off great performances. For her effort last week, she is the Mountain Citizen Player of the Week.

Hale is a sophomore for the Cardinals and a powerhouse when it comes to scoring goals. She booted in four and had two assists in a 10-0 victory Thursday at Pike Central.

The midfielder has 18 goals and 14 assists for the season after battling shin splints for most of the year.

Hale is averaging 1.6 goals and 1.3 assists per game.

With four regular season games and tournament play on the horizon, those numbers are expected to increase.
