MARTIN COUNTY — Madden Miller of the Martin County High School football team and Annaleigh Davis of the Martin County Middle School basketball team contributed great performances this past week. For their effort, they were named Mountain Citizen Players of the Week.
Miller is a junior for the Cardinals and plays both sides of the ball for Martin County on Friday nights. He rushed for 33 yards and scored a touchdown in the Harvest Bowl played Friday at the Rock. He picked up a two-point conversion to add to his offensive stats.
On the defensive side, Madden had a whopping 15 tackles and one for a loss against the Patriots.
Davis is the point guard for the MCMS girls basketball team. She led her team to a 36-24 win with a thunderous 17 points behind her quick driving to the basket Friday in a game against Paintsville. She is also a defensive machine and averages multiple steals per game.
