INEZ — A Martin County grand jury indicted a Warfield man Thursday for alleged methamphetamine possession.
John Preston, 41, of Warfield, is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance.
Preston’s charges stem from his arrest May 24 on Halls Branch in Inez when a deputy responded to a call about him walking around people’s houses. The arrest report states the deputy asked Preston if he had anything on him, and Preston said he had “a little meth on him.” According to the report, the officer located the meth in Preston’s left front pocket.
