INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s office reported the following arrests:
Virgie Blevins, 35, of Lovely, was arrested Tuesday in the courthouse in Inez for terroristic threatening, menacing and disorderly conduct. Deputy David Adams reported that Blevins came into the CDW office with her son, who was taken into custody. Blevins allegedly became irate and threatened him, stating that she would punch him in the jaw as soon as she caught him out of his uniform.
Cheryl Rogers, 46, of Tomahawk, was served a criminal complaint Tuesday at the sheriff’s office in Inez for a charge of criminal abuse. Deputy Chris Kidd served the warrant.
John Albert Preston, 41, of Warfield, was arrested Tuesday on an indictment warrant charging him with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Deputy Billy Patrick made the arrest.
Mark G. Mollett, 49, of Tomahawk, was arrested Monday in Tomahawk on a bench warrant out of Jessamine County. His charges include terroristic threatening, wanton endangerment, assault and failure to appear. Deputy David Adams made the arrest.
Haskel Mills, 36, of Inez, was arrested Sunday in Inez for drinking alcohol in a public place. Deputy J.C. Kirk responded to a possible domestic, where a woman advised Mills had hit her. The female had no physical marks and did not want to press charges. Mills allegedly had left the scene in a pickup truck. The police report says the deputy located him “up the road” out of the vehicle. Kirk reported Mills was “highly intoxicated,” walking on the roadway, and had an odor of alcohol on his breath.
Ronald Johnson, 62, of Vinton, Ohio, was arrested Sunday in Inez for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a substance and possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified). According to Deputy Adams, Johnson was in the wrong lane nearly hitting a blue Ford Ranger head-on on Route 40. The deputy reported that Johnson had glossy eyes and slurred speech, admitted to taking Neurontin for pain in his legs, and said he was not prescribed Neurontin. The officer found a white pill in the console, which Johnson allegedly said was Neurontin, and a pill bottle on the back of the driver seat containing 11 Xanax prescribed to George Johnson.
Asiaa Meeks, 25, of Louisa, was arrested Sunday in Lovely on a bench warrant and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Deputy J.C. Kirk’s report says he was serving a bench warrant on Meeks when she attempted to pull a small bag containing a clear crystal-like substance from her pocket and dispose of it. Meeks allegedly advised the substance was meth.
Kristen L. Fletcher, 25, of Lovely, was arrested Saturday in Lovely on a bench warrant out of Pike County. Deputy J.C. Kirk made the arrest.
Chase Hale, 18, of Lovely, was arrested Friday in Inez on two bench warrants. His charges include public intoxication of a controlled substance (excludes alcohol), resisting arrest, menacing and disorderly conduct. Sheriff Kirk made the arrest.
Grace Martha Harmon, 72, of Inez, was arrested Sunday in Lovely for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/substance. Sheriff Kirk met Maynard across the center line. He turned around and observed her crossing the center line twice more in about 1,000 feet.
Derek Maynard, 31, of Pikeville, was arrested Thursday in Inez for public intoxication of a controlled substance (excludes alcohol), second-degree disorderly conduct, menacing, third-degree terroristic threatening and resisting arrest. Deputy Adams responded to a call about a male cursing the manager at Family Dollar on Board Walk. According to the police report, when Adams located Maynard in the parking lot at Dairy Queen, Maynard had glossy eyes and was irate.
The deputy reported that he and Maynard walked back to the Family Dollar to view video footage. Upon seeing Family Dollar manager William Pender, Maynard reportedly “flexed up and lunged towards the Pender, stating, ‘You’re going to get your ass whooped.’” Adams says Maynard continued cursing and threatening Pender after his arrest.
The police report states that as the deputy was putting Maynard in the back of the police vehicle, Maynard’s mother came out of Dairy Queen, asking what was happening. The deputy advised her that her son was under arrest. The officer said that while trying to get Maynard into the vehicle, Maynard kept pushing off, saying he wasn’t getting in the vehicle. Once inside, Maynard began kicking the window and door.
Robbie Prater, 41, of Stopover, was arrested Thursday as a transferred state controlled intake prisoner held.
Kody Endicott, 28, of Inez, was arrested Thursday on contempt of court libel/slander resistance to order.
Bill Newsome, 36, of Warfield, was arrested Aug. 30 in Warfield on two fugitive from another state warrants out of Wayne and Mingo counties. Adams made the arrest.
