If you love the Harvest Fest Treasure Hunt, it might be time to put your skills to the test in the Amazing Race.

Grab a partner and get ready to race through downtown Inez solving riddles, cracking clues, answering trivia and tackling challenges for a shot at $500 in cash prizes.

The Turkey Creek Church of the Nazarene Youth Group will host the Amazing Race at 10 a.m. Saturday during the Martin County Harvest Fest.

Teams of two will follow a series of clues leading them to locations throughout downtown Inez. At each stop, racers could be asked to find an object, solve a puzzle or complete a mental or physical challenge before moving on.

Brains will matter. Speed will help. Teamwork could make the difference.

And there is some serious money waiting at the finish line.

Thanks to sponsorship from Appalachia Reach Out, the first-place team will take home $250, second place will win $150 and third place will receive $100.

You do not have to be an Olympic sprinter to compete. The race is designed to be fun for all ages, whether you are racing to win the cash or simply to see whether you can outsmart the clues.

Entry is $25 per two-person team, with proceeds helping the youth group attend district and regional church events.

Organizers are encouraging teams to preregister so they can plan for the crowd.

All teams should report to the Turkey Creek Church of the Nazarene festival booth by 9:45 a.m. Saturday. The race begins at 10 a.m. sharp.
