Meth trafficking, criminal abuse, theft among charges

INEZ — A Martin County grand jury returned 16 indictments against 11 people Sept. 3. Charges range from methamphetamine trafficking and criminal abuse to theft, wanton endangerment, flagrant nonsupport and fleeing police.
Joey Mat Luster, 67, of Inez, is facing a charge of first-degree wanton endangerment. The indictment alleges that on May 24, Luster engaged in conduct that created a substantial risk of serious physical injury or death to Martin County Sheriff John Kirk. His bail is $5,000.
John Slone, 40, of Williamson, West Virginia, is the subject of six separate indictments charging him with first-degree bail jumping. The indictments allege Slone failed to appear for pretrial conferences Aug. 6 in six felony cases after his release from custody on the condition that he appear in court. His bail is $5,000 on each indictment.
Sherry Horn, also known as Sherry Gordon, 49, of Lovely, is facing charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and tampering with physical evidence. The charges stem from an April 24 incident in which Horn allegedly possessed cocaine. The indictment states she also destroyed, removed, altered or concealed physical evidence. Her bail is $5,000.
Kayla White, also known as Kayla Renea Mitchell, 40, of Lovely, faces a flagrant nonsupport charge. The indictment alleges White failed to pay court-ordered child support from June 1, 2012, through July 31, 2026. The grand jury reports the unpaid amount exceeds $13,112.60. Her bail is $5,000.
Jeremy D. Harmon, 45, of Warfield, is facing a flagrant nonsupport charge. The indictment alleges Harmon failed to pay court-ordered child support from Oct. 1, 2016, through July 31, 2026, totaling more than $12,379.35. His bail is $5,000.
Gary Lee Gamble Jr., 47, of Inez, stands accused of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (over 2 grams of methamphetamine) complicity and first-degree persistent felony offender. The indictment alleges that on April 12, Gamble Jr., acting alone or in complicity with Gary Lee Gamble Sr., possessed approximately 4.569 grams of methamphetamine and $121 in cash with the intent to traffic the drug. His second charge results from two previous felony convictions for which he received and satisfied at least a one-year sentence within five years of the instant charge. His bail is $10,000.
Gary Lee Gamble Sr., 66, of Inez, is also facing the same charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, methamphetamine, complicity, and being a first-degree persistent felony offender. His indictment likewise alleges that he and Gamble Jr. possessed approximately 4.569 grams of methamphetamine and $121 in cash in connection with trafficking. Gamble Sr.’s second charge results from two previous felony convictions for which he received and satisfied at least a one-year sentence within five years of the instant charge. His bail is $10,000.
Christopher James Guerrero, AKA Christopher James Risinger, 37, of Lovely, stands accused of first-degree criminal abuse of a victim age 12 or younger. The indictment alleges that on Aug. 11, 2025, Guerrero abused a child by causing serious physical injury and/or placing the child in a situation that created a substantial and unjustifiable risk of serious physical injury. His bail is $25,000.
April Fletcher, 39, of Inez, faces theft by unlawful taking over $1,000 but under $10,000. The indictment alleges Fletcher unlawfully took a 2020 Kawasaki utility task vehicle belonging to Dwayne Collins of Inez on June 28. The UTV has a value of approximately $8,760. Her bail is $5,000.
Jordan Delong, 23, of Debord, faces multiple charges: First-degree fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle, three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, third-degree fleeing or evading police on foot, failure of a non-owner to maintain required insurance, no registration receipt, leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid and no registration plates.
The indictment alleges that on May 12, Delong fled Martin County Constable Mitchell Bowen in a motor vehicle, creating a substantial risk of serious physical injury or death to Bowen. The three wanton endangerment counts allege Delong endangered Kerrigan Delong, Misty Delong and a juvenile.
The indictment further states that Delong fled Bowen on foot, operated a vehicle without required insurance and registration, and left the scene of an accident without stopping to determine whether anyone was hurt or rendering reasonable assistance. His bail is $10,000.
Jason K. Fields, 41, of Inez, is facing two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance involving methamphetamine and fentanyl. The indictment alleges Fields possessed the drugs on March 30. His bail is $5,000.
An indictment is an accusation and is not a finding of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
