Ronald Wayne King, 74, of Inez, passed away peacefully at his home Aug. 25, 2026.
Born May 14, 1952, in Winchester, he was the son of the late Edgar and Nina (Engle) King.
Ronnie was a hardworking man who spent most of his career driving a truck. He took great pride in owning and operating his own trucking business, DeRon Trucking, for many years. He was known for his strong work ethic, his love for his family, and the many lives he touched throughout his years.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Deniese (Slone) King. He is also survived by his children, Ronnie (Amanda) Burton of Georgetown and Ron (Kelli) King of Tallahassee, Florida; and stepson, Chris (Paula) Goss of Versailles. He leaves behind many grandchildren, nieces and nephews who were deeply loved and held a special place in his heart.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie is preceded in death by four brothers, Michael Lee King, Jimmy Dale King, David Allen King and Eddie King; his sister, Patty Banks; and his stepson, Kelly Ray Click.
Ronnie will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his dedication to his family, and the love he shared with those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Ronnie’s life was one of hard work, family and love. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the love he gave will remain with his family and loved ones forever.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026, at Crum Funeral Home in Inez, with Terry Dalton officiating. Burial followed in the Goble Cemetery on Sprigg Branch Road in Inez.
