INEZ — The Martin County High School Lady Cardinals soccer team is the Kirk & Crum Law Office Players of the Week.

The Lady Cards brought home the Smoky Mountain Cup championship from Gatlinburg over the weekend.

Martin County went 3-0 against Tennessee competition with wins over Portland 8-2, Jefferson County 7-0 and Fairview 10-1.

The Lady Cards outscored their opponents 25-3 during the tournament and improved to a perfect 8-0 on the season.

The championship run also helped Martin County climb to No. 9 in Kentucky, ranked by MaxPreps, and No. 1 in the 15th Region.
