
CITIZEN STAFF REPORT
INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s office reported the following arrests:

Christopher Maynard, 43, of Lovely, was arrested Aug. 18 on Little Peter Cave Road in Lovely on a charge of alcohol intoxication in a public place, first and second offense.
Deputy B. Maynard responded to a disturbance complaint on Little Peter Cave Road. According to the arrest report, Maynard was “highly intoxicated” and had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.
The report states that Maynard became “belligerent” when he was arrested. His mother and neighbors reportedly told the deputy that he had been drinking throughout the day and playing loud music.

Kenneth Alan Rose, 34, of Inez, was arrested Aug. 21 on Fitch Branch Road in Inez on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl) and tampering with physical evidence.
Deputy J.C. Kirk went to a residence on Fitch Branch Road to serve Rose with an out-of-state warrant. According to the arrest report, Kirk saw Rose place an item containing a white substance beneath an end table beside him.

Vernon Sluss Jr., 55, of Inez, was arrested Aug. 21 on Fitch Branch Road in Inez on a bench warrant from Martin Circuit Court.
Deputy J.C. Kirk served the warrant at 10:46 p.m.
All individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
