ASHLAND — The investigation into the death of 19-year-old Marly Kinney continues as Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources Law Enforcement asks anyone with information to come forward.

Kinney, of Ashland, was reported missing June 24 after she did not return with friends aboard a pontoon boat rented from Grayson Lake Marina in Carter County.

Her body was recovered from Grayson Lake on June 28 following an exhaustive five-day search.

Fish and Wildlife investigators are working with the Carter County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office to evaluate new evidence and pursue investigative leads. The agency said its priority is to conduct a thorough and accurate investigation while protecting the integrity of the process.

The findings will be reviewed in accordance with applicable law and prosecutorial procedures once the investigation is complete.

“Additional details cannot be released at this time as doing so could compromise the integrity of the investigation,” said Col. Jeremy McQueary, director of the Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement Division. “We understand the community’s interest in this case and are committed to providing updates if it is appropriate to do so.”

Investigators said even seemingly minor information could help establish facts or corroborate evidence.
