William Everett “Dutch” Daniels, age 75, beloved father, Papaw, Marine and friend, passed away Monday, June 20, 2026, at his home, surrounded by family and friends.

Born Feb. 19, 1951, he was the son of the late Everett Lee Daniels and Sarah Ellen (DeLong) Daniels.

Dutch proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and carried that pride throughout his life.

He was a devoted father to his daughter, Laura Daniels, and a loving Papaw to his beloved granddaughter, Destiny Pope, who will forever be known as “Papaw’s girl.” He was also a cherished godfather to Evan (Andre) Harris.

He also leaves behind brothers Donald Daniels of Dayton, Ohio, and Jimmy Daniels of Fairborn, Ohio, as well as his beloved friend and former wife, Melissa Daniels.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Daniels, and brother Douglas Daniels, Donald’s twin who passed away shortly after birth.

Dutch was known for his love of history, his endless well of facts, and his ability to share knowledge and stories with those around him. He had a remarkable talent for woodworking, especially his detailed covered wagons. He enjoyed Harleys, westerns, music and spending time with family and the many friends he considered family.

Dutch will be remembered for his quiet strength, loyalty, kindness and the stories he loved to share. He lived life on his own terms and remained true to himself, leaving behind memories that will live on through those who knew and loved him.

“I won’t change to please others. I’ll be who I am, and the right people will love the real me.”
