David Newsome
1953—2026

David Newsome, 73, of Kermit, West Virginia, died July 3, 2026, at home surrounded by his family.

Born March 14, 1953, he was the son of the late Floyd “Bud” Newsome and Carrie Brewer Newsome.

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his son, Michael David Newsome; his brothers, Alvin Lee Newsome, William Douglas Newsome and Edward (Zelda) Newsome; and his sister, Maudie Sharon Newsome.

Survivors include David’s daughter, Janet Marie Newsome; brothers Danny Newsome and Ronald (Sandy) Newsome; sisters Maryellen (Sam) Dingess, Josephine Newsome, Pamela (Bill) Newsome and Violet Ann Newsome; niece Amanda (Jason) Spaulding; best friend Robert (Debra) Brewer; sister-in-law Connie Newsome; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were conducted July 7, 2026, at the Rosetown Church in Kermit.
