1942—2026

Joann (Jude) Mayo Staton, 83, of Louisa, went home to be with the Lord on July 20, 2026, in Winchester.

Born July 27, 1942, in Pike County, she was the daughter of the late Elijah Jude and Dina (Scott) Young.

Joann was a member of the Richardson Primitive Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, John Mayo; her second husband, Ermil Staton; one son, Clarence Mitchell Mayo; and two daughters, Sandra Berneice Mayo and Peggy Sue Mayo.

Survivors include Joann’s son, John Mayo of Richardson; four daughters, Dena Harmon, Carolyn Hurley, Dottie Mayo and Melissa Mayo; one brother, Jimmy Jude; and two sisters, Elvie Slone and Flourine Harris. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Per the family’s request, visitation and funeral services have been postponed until further notice. Service dates and times will be announced when they become available. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
