WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — A 74-year-old Mingo County man is in jail on charges that he sent pornographic links and explicit messages to a 16-year-old female and attempted to seduce her.

West Virginia State Police arrested Wallace Brocky Robinson, of Hensley Big Branch Road in Williamson, on July 20 on charges of distributing obscene material to a minor and attempting to seduce a minor.

According to a criminal complaint in Mingo County Magistrate Court, the investigation began July 16 when the girl’s mother contacted Senior Trooper J.C. Morrison of the WVSP Williamson Detachment.

The mother told police that Robinson had communicated with her daughter through social media and text messages. The complaint alleges that he sent the girl explicit videos and conversations, asked her questions of a sexual nature and provided links to two pornographic websites while knowing she was underage.

Police also reviewed a recording of a Feb. 9 FaceTime call between Robinson and the girl. The call was made using the same telephone number associated with their text conversations and recorded on another device, according to the complaint.

The girl reportedly identified Robinson during the call. About 13 minutes into the recording, he could be seen wearing a red shirt and glasses while discussing sexually explicit subjects, police said.

At a little over the 13-minute point of the call, the defendant was visible and wearing a red shirt and glasses, the complaint alleges.

Police interviewed Robinson at his residence July 18. Robinson allegedly acknowledged being aware of the victim’s true age and admitted to distributing links to pornographic websites and discussing explicit subjects, police said.

Robinson remains in the Southwestern Regional Jail in Holden under a $25,000 cash bond.
