INEZ — Thirty years of parades, carnival lights, music, vendor markets and growing together have made the Martin County Harvest Festival part of the county’s collective memory.
Now as the festival prepares to mark its 30th anniversary Sept. 18-19 in downtown Inez, organizers want the community to help tell that story — one photograph at a time.
“We need your help,” Martin County Kiwanis Club President Melissa Phelps said.
The Kiwanis Club is collecting photographs from Harvest Festivals past for a special anniversary exhibit. Organizers are looking for the polished and the candid: parade scenes, carnival rides, live performances, sports, contests, family outings, volunteers at work and snapshots of moments that might otherwise have been forgotten.
“Every picture helps tell the story of our festival,” Phelps said.
The images will become part of a physical display during the festival and will also be shared on social media, creating a visual history of an event that has endured across generations.
“Help us showcase three decades of unforgettable moments and celebrate the people who have made the Martin County Harvest Festival such a special tradition,” Phelps said. “Let’s take a walk down memory lane together. We can’t wait to see your photos.”
Digital photographs may be emailed to [email protected] or sent through Messenger to the Martin County Harvest Fest Facebook page.
Those with printed photographs may have them scanned and returned. Starting July 20, bring prints to the Martin County Attorney’s Office in the government center.
