James B. ‘JB’ Parsons
1949—2026

James B. “JB” Parsons, age 77, of Inez, passed away July 11, 2026, at his residence.

Born Feb. 3, 1949, he was the son of the late Joseph Lewis Parsons and Elizabeth J.P. Perkey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James B. Parsons Jr.; his stepfather, Kue Perkey; one brother, Joseph Lewis Parsons Jr.; and one sister, Nancy Endicott.

James is survived by his wife, Cathy (Delong) Parsons; one brother, Leo Parsons of Inez; two sisters, Velma Sue Slone of Texas and Judy K. Ward of Inez; one sister-in-law, Charlotte Albert; and many nieces and nephews who loved him very much.

James was of the Baptist faith.

He will be sadly missed by those who knew him and loved him.

Services were conducted Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Crum Funeral Home in Inez with Keith Brumfield officiating. Burial followed at the James Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home.
