CITIZEN STAFF REPORT

INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s office reported the following arrests:

Jonathon Allen Gray

Jonathon Allen Gray, 40, unknown address, was arrested July 6 on Court Street in Inez on a warrant from Jessamine District Court charging him with menacing and discharge of a firearm/other device across a public road. Deputy David Adams served the warrant at 1:36 p.m. after Gray turned himself in at the Sheriff’s office.

Mollie Mahlstede

Mollie Mahlstede, 43, unknown address, was arrested July 6 on Court Street in Inez on a warrant from Jefferson District Court on charges of tampering with a prisoner monitoring device and escape, second degree (identify facility). Deputy Adams served the warrant at 2:03 p.m. after Mahlstede turned herself in at the Sheriff’s office.

Lige Marcum

Lige Marcum, 55, of Lovely, was arrested at 5:28 a.m. July 4 on KY-292 in Lovely on a charge of assault, fourth degree (domestic violence), no visible injury.

Deputy Jameson Wall responded to a residence on Riverfront Road in reference to a domestic disturbance in progress. When Wall arrived, he reported that Marcum was asleep in the front passenger seat of a conversion/camper van where he was living.

The 911 caller showed Wall a video that allegedly showed Marcum standing over a female and slapping her in the face. Wall reported that the female denied what was shown in the video because she did not want Marcum to go to jail. The caller also stated that Marcum had threatened her, but said she did not have that on video.

Wall reported that Marcum was intoxicated and had been drinking cans of Natty Daddy’s before the incident.

James Music

James Music, 30, of Warfield, was arrested at 12:06 a.m. July 4 at Dempsey Housing in Warfield on a Pike County warrant for failure to appear. Deputy Wall served the warrant.

Courtney Megan Mills

Courtney Megan Mills, 29, of Inez, was arrested at 1:26 p.m. July 2 on Hinkle Valley/South Milo in Tomahawk on a warrant from Martin District Court. Sheriff Kirk served the warrant.

Samuel Ray Preston

Samuel Ray Preston, 45, of Tomahawk, was arrested at 10:04 p.m. June 30 on North Milo Road in Tomahawk on charges of receiving stolen property $1,000-$10,000.

Sheriff Kirk said Preston had several tools in his possession, including a Snap-on pulley puller set valued at approximately $850, an OTC ball joint service tool set valued at $650, a DeWalt 5-amp 20-volt cordless battery valued at $89, a Blue-Point tap and die set valued at $400, a Hanson tap and die set valued at $250, a Black & Decker wood bit set valued at $30, and a TRW tap and die set valued at $150.

According to Kirk, Preston allegedly first said he took the tools from a building in Lawrence County, then said he took them from Heath Preston, who is deceased. Preston allegedly told officers that because Heath Preston was dead, he thought he could take the tools.

All individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
