INEZ — Martin County 12U All-Stars are the Kirk & Crum Law Office Players of the Week.

The group battled its way to a runner-up finish in the District 3 Cal Ripken Tournament at Stonecrest last weekend.

Martin County went 4-2 in the tournament and fought through the bracket, beating Johnson County, Letcher County, Knott County and Belfry to earn a spot in the championship game against Pikeville. They won three straight to make their way back into the winner’s bracket.

The All-Stars came up short 8-4 in the finals, but not before giving the eventual champions a fight into late innings.
