PRESTONSBURG Martin County High School girls basketball took the floor in two scrimmages at Prestonsburg, June 18.

New Lady Cardinals coach Shannon Lewis was in the gym to observe the young squad he will be taking over this fall.

Assistant coaches Lance Tackett and Mark Tiller have guided workouts throughout the summer and run the team plays during games.

Martin County had a late push but could not get past a well-sized Prestonsburg squad with a 41-34 score.

The Lady Cards were down two with 27 seconds remaining against Pike Central but the Lady Hawks pulled out the 41-36 win.

Martin County also attended the Transylvania camp in Lexington last weekend.
