Rebecca Cordelia Strickland
1940—2026

Rebecca Cordelia Strickland, 85, of Inez, passed away June 10, 2026, at ARH Highlands Hospital in Prestonsburg.

Born Dec. 1, 1940, in Martin County, Rebecca was the daughter of the late Vernon Moore and Emily McCoy Moore.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ossie Gamble and Doug Strickland; her children, Mance Darrell Gamble and Allison Mills Gamble.

Rebecca is survived by her children, Glemia (Terry) Dalton of Inez, Gary (Brandi) Gamble of Inez, Jacqueline (Clayton) Smith of Reidsville, Georgia, Joey (Darrell) Kidd of Ashland, and Emily (Russell) Rae of Reidsville, Georgia. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include her siblings, Ruby Cummings, Earnest (Sue) Moore, Sid (Shelby) Moore, Woodrow Moore, Derwood Moore, Brenda Ann Marcum, Gail Moore, Hayes Moore and David Fleming, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Callaham Funeral Home in Inez, Saturday, June 13, 2026. Burial followed at the Moore Cemetery in Pilgrim, under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
