Rape, sexual abuse cases among Pike County indictments

PIKEVILLE — A Pike County grand jury returned 55 indictments against 54 individuals during sessions held May 20 and June 2. Charges include rape, sexual abuse, assault, robbery, identity theft and numerous drug-related offenses.

May 20

Travis Abbott, 34, of Gilbert, West Virginia, stands indicted on three counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Patricia Adkins, 37, of Kimper, has been indicted on charges of first-degree promoting contraband; first-degree possession of a controlled substance; and first-degree persistent felon offender.

Jason Belcher, 49, of Pikeville, was indicted on one count each of first-degree possession of a controlled substance; DUI, first offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; third-degree possession of a controlled substance; and no taillamps.

Kyra Blankenship, 18, of Phelps, stands indicted on charges of first-degree promoting contraband; resisting arrest; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

William Bowman, 49, of Hardy, has been indicted on one count each of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Kurastin Brown, 32, of Williamson, West Virginia, was indicted on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance; third-degree possession of a controlled substance; and prescription not in proper container.

Daniel Chafin, 25, of Williamson, West Virginia, stands indicted on a single count of third-degree burglary.

Randy Charles, 44, of Raccoon, has been indicted on one count each of first-degree possession of a controlled substance; DUI, first offense; third-degree possession of a controlled substance; and driving on a suspended license, first offense.

Ryan Cornwell, 45, of Pikeville, was indicted on a single misdemeanor count of public intoxication.

Eric Estridge, 41, of Canada, stands indicted on charges of third-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking.

Brian Henry, 57, of Shelbiana, has been indicted on one count each of second-degree robbery and third-degree terroristic threatening.

Pierce Hensley, 55, of Lenore, West Virginia, was indicted on one count of misdemeanor fraudulent use of a credit card.

Stephanie Henlsey, 53, of Lenore, West Virginia, was indicted on fraudulent use of a credit card.

Donald Hurley, 34, of Phelps, stands indicted on charges of DUI, first offense; first-degree possession of a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; two counts of second-degree criminal mischief; no insurance; failure to produce insurance card; improper display of registration plate; no tags; and no registration plates.

William Hyden, 36, of McCarr, has been indicted on one count each of third-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking.

Vincent Justus, 55, of Hurley, Va., was indicted on charges of possession of a firearm by a felon; first-degree possession of a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; and third-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Shirley D. McClanahan, 28, of Phelps, stands indicted on charges that include first-degree possession of a controlled substance; operating an all-terrain vehicle on a roadway; DUI, first offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; and driving on a suspended license, first offense.

Donique Mitchem, 41, of Varney, West Virginia, has been indicted on a single charge of first-degree criminal trespass.

Thomas Mullins, 35, of Elkhorn City, was indicted on one count each of first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lucas Pigg, 28, of Pikeville, stands indicted on charges of possession of a firearm by felon and illegal take/pursue deer/wild turkey.

Freddie Ramey, 74, of Hayside, Va., has been indicted on two counts of third-degree assault.

Natalio Ramirez, 42, of Pikeville, was indicted on a single charge of rape, first-degree.

Everett Robertson, 31, of Pikeville, has been indicted on charges of third-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking (misdemeanor) and second-degree criminal mischief.

Michael Robinette, 60, of Pinsonfork, has been indicted on charges of DUI, first offense; first-degree possession of a controlled substance; two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance; and failure to produce insurance card.

James Smith, 60, of Pinsonfork, was indicted on charges of DUI, first offense; first-degree possession of a controlled substance; two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance; and failure to produce insurance card.

Destiny Showalter, 36, of Elkhorn City, was indicted on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; and license plate not legible.

Mary Sidney, 35, of South Williamson, was indicted on multiple counts, including first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance; two counts of first-degree promoting contraband; two counts of possession of a controlled substance; third-degree possession of a controlled substance; and no tags.

Chad Smallwood, 46, of Jenkins, stands indicted on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; and license plate not legible.

Kimberly Stepp, 39, of Burnwell, has been indicted on one count each of third-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking.

Krystal Stone, 33, of Pikeville, was indicted on charges of leaving the scene of an accident; third-degree fleeing/evading; DUI, first offense; and second-degree disorderly conduct.

Vangie Thacker, 52, of Belfry, has been indicted on one count of first-degree criminal trespass.

Jenny Whited, 47, of Hanover, West Virginia, has been indicted on charges of possession of a firearm by a felon; first-degree possession of a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; and third-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Anthony Wright, 32, of Pikeville, was indicted on one count each of DUI, third offense; first-degree possession of a controlled substance; and possession of marijuana.

June 2

Chester Adkins, 55, and Suetta Adkins, 50, of Belcher, were each indicted on two counts of first-degree sexual abuse; two counts of third-degree sodomy; and two counts of incest.

Drannon Adkins, 40, of Elkhorn City, stands indicted on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance; third-degree possession of a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; DUI, first offense; driving suspended, first offense; improper display of registration plate; and failure to signal.

Scottie Bearden, 35, of Pikeville, has been indicted on one count each of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and fourth-degree assault.

Ashley Blevins, 29, of Inez, was indicted on charges of theft of identity; theft by deception; two counts of second-degree forgery; third-degree burglary; and second-degree persistent felony offender.

Audrey Lynn Doyle, 59, of Belfry, stands indicted on charges of second-degree possession of a forged instrument and theft by unlawful taking.

Bradford Elswick, 49, of Pikeville, has been indicted on two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance; all-terrain vehicle violations; no insurance; and first-degree persistent felony offender.

Brian Johnson, 27, of Beaver, was indicted on charges of first-degree assault; first-degree wanton endangerment; and prohibited possession of a loaded gun with alcohol.

Zachary Lesher, 31, of Pikeville, stands indicted for first-degree possession of a controlled substance; DUI, first offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; driving suspended; possession of marijuana; no seat belt; rear license not illuminated; and failure to have license in possession.

Gord Ellis Looney, II, 44, of Sidney, was indicted on a single count of first-degree sexual abuse.

Charles Eric May, 46, of Inez, has been indicted on one count each of second-degree possession of a forged instrument and tampering with evidence.

Jonathan Meloy, 24, of Pikeville, stands indicted on charges of fourth-degree assault, second-degree criminal mischief, and third-degree criminal trespass.

Billy Morton, 49, of Elkhorn City, has been indicted on one count each of first-degree possession of a controlled substance; DUI, first offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; reckless driving; and no seat belt.

Hope Rose, 45, of Elkhorn City, was indicted for first-degree possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

In a separate indictment, Rose was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, DUI, first offense and improper equipment.

Rebecca Slone, 45, of Jonacy, stands indicted on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.

Dorothy Tackett, 54, of Jonacy, has been indicted on one count each of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, DUI, second offense, and improper display of registration plate.

Darrell Thacker, 48, of Fedscreek, was indicted on two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance; DUI, first offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; and speeding.

Charles Yates, 56, of Clintwood, Virginia, was indicted on a single count of theft of motor vehicle registration plate.

William Johnson, 39, of Elkhorn City, was indicted on charges of tampering with evidence; two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

An indictment is an accusation. All individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
