PRESTONSBURG — A Floyd County man was arrested Monday after Kentucky State Police said he stabbed a woman multiple times at a residence in the Prestonsburg community.
Troopers responded June 1 to a home on Right Fork Home Branch where they found Joy Jervis of Prestonsburg suffering from multiple stab wounds to her chest and arm, according to KSP.
Following an investigation, police arrested Eddie Dmitruk, 58, of Prestonsburg. He was lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center and charged with first-degree assault.
Trooper Tracy Salyers is leading the investigation. Additional Kentucky State Police personnel and local first responders assisted at the scene.
All individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
