Andy Eugene Stacy
1952—2026
Andy Eugene Stacy, 74, a man whose heart was as big as the hills he called home in Inez, passed away May 7, 2026, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland following a sudden illness.
Born March 5, 1952, in Three Forks, he was the son of the late Carmel Stacy and Gladys (Jude) Stacy.
It was during his time in the hospital that Andy was saved and baptized, finding peace and comfort in his faith.
In his younger years, Andy was known to many by his CB handle, “Coconut.” He spent his days hunting, trading and talking across the airwaves. However, as the years passed, he retired those titles for his favorite one of all, “Papaw.”
Andy did not just raise his own; he was the kind of man who claimed every child his daughters brought through the door as his own, plus a few more. He took immense pride in spoiling his grandchildren, doing everything he could to make them smile. His legacy is one of open doors, open arms and a love that knew no boundaries.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Haskel Eugene Stacy; two brothers, Ben Harrison Stacy and Kenny Ray Stacy; four sisters, Judy Blackburn, Linda Jude, Tilda Faye Stacy and Brenda Dalton; and one sister-in-law, Donna Stacy.
Andy is survived by his wife, Sharon (Fletcher) Stacy; four daughters, Angela Lee (Mitchell) Smith of Inez, Stephanie Ann (Randy) Fletcher and Michelle Stacy, both of Louisa, and Andrea (Willie Blackburn) Stacy of Ulysses; three brothers, Haskel (Joyce) Stacy and Jasper (Nona) Stacy, both of Inez, and Elmer Stacy of Van Lear; and two sisters, Diana Kay (Gordon) Fletcher of Tomahawk and Tammy (Joe) Fannin of Milo. He is also survived by his 13 beloved grandchildren, Stacy (Ethan) Adams, Jeffery (Courtney) Ritchie, Isom Ritchie, Alandria Smith, Jada Smith, Blake (Libby) Fletcher, Bella Fletcher, Austin (Amanda) Fletcher, Rebecca (Brad) Hatfield, Morgan Blackburn, Jo Jo Blackburn, Corbin Blackburn and Lucas Blackburn; eight beloved great-grandchildren, Natalie Adams, Riley Adams, Oakley Ritchie, Natalie Rose, Archer Johnson, Kayson Fletcher, Madaline Fletcher and Rosemary Brewer; one great-grandchild on the way; and a host of nieces, nephews and “adopted” children that will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 11, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the Buck Branch Church with Luther Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow at the Bascom Maynard Cemetery. Friends may visit the church Saturday and Sunday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Crum Funeral Home, 498 New Route 3, Inez, KY 41224, to assist with funeral expenses.
