Prepare, plant, serve: ‘His Garden’ season underway

Volunteers work rows at His Garden preparing for the Turkey Creek Church of the Nazarene’s 2026 community food program. From left are Johnnie Mills, Eddie Joe Mills, Isabella Mills and Charlotta Mills. Since His Garden launched in 2022, Pastor Derek Catron and volunteers have distributed fresh produce to the community through a no-cost farmers market on the church’s front porch. Initially grant-funded, His Garden now relies on the support of church members and the community. (Citizen photo by Nora Ray)
