HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Tug Valley Panthers surrendered a nine-run fifth inning in a 14-3 loss to St. Joseph Central Irish and were shut out 9-0 by Sherman Tide in a pair of road games April 30 and May 2 in Huntington.

St. Joseph Central defeated Tug Valley 14-3 on April 30 in Huntington, thanks in part to nine runs in the fifth inning.
Dawson Richardson stepped on the mound to start the game for the Panthers. The starter gave up eight hits and seven runs (five earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking four.
Wyatt Pence stepped on the hill first for St. Joe. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and three runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out nine and walking eight.
Richardson and Gage Whitt each collected one hit for the Panthers. Whitt led TV with two RBIs.
The Irish of St. Joe had a hit parade collecting 15 hits in the game.
Mason Watts and Hudson Moosavi each collected three hits for the home team.
Sherman 9, Tug Valley 0
The Sherman Tide wiped out Tug Valley 9-0 Saturday at Jack Cook Field on the Marshall University campus in Huntington.
Sherman got on the scoreboard first when Luke Tagliente scored on a sacrifice fly.
The Tide added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Brayden Hamrick singled down the right field line, Jon Seacrist singled down the left field line, and Oliver Harless walked in the rally.
Chandler Copley pitched 4 1/3 innings in relief for Tug Valley. The righthander gave up five hits and four runs (zero earned) while striking out two and walking two.
Gage Whitt started on the hill for Tug Valley. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and five runs (three earned) over 2 1/3 innings, striking out two and walking four.
Tagliente started the game for Sherman Tide. He surrendered no hits and no runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking none.
Avery Skeens led the Sherman Tide with three RBIs.
Harless showed the depth of Sherman Tide’s lineup by leading them with two hits in three at-bats.
