
MOREHEAD — Morehead State University will hold its spring 2026 commencement ceremonies May 9 with two programs scheduled in the Academic-Athletic Center.
The first ceremony begins at 10 a.m. and will recognize graduates from the Ernst & Sara Lane Volgenau College of Education and the College of Science and Engineering.
The second ceremony is set for 2 p.m. and will honor graduates from the Caudill College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and the Elmer R. Smith College of Business and Technology.

Student speakers for the event are Ryan Holderby of Salyersville, representing the College of Education, and Marcella Muadi Batubenga of Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, representing the College of Business and Technology.
Holderby will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Grades Education and has served in leadership roles with Appalachian Future Educators and the Student Government Association. He has also completed educational experiences abroad and worked as a substitute teacher in Morgan County.
Muadi Batubenga will earn a Bachelor of Business Administration in Healthcare Management. She has served as president of the International Student Association and held multiple campus leadership roles, including resident advisor and student ambassador. She also gained experience at UK St. Claire Hospital in Morehead.
The ceremony will include the commissioning of seven ROTC officers: Jeremy Russell Crawford of Ashland; Peyton Kelley Dandaneu of Richmond; Judah H. Hill of Morehead; Callie Jayde Robertson of Milton, West Virginia; Brycen Christopher Shepherd of Martin; Davin Jay Steele of Lexington; and Samuel A. Williamson of Isonville.
The event does not require tickets and there is no limit on the number of guests. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Department of Music & Theatre students and faculty will provide special music.
