CITIZEN STAFF REPORT
INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Rogert D. Meade, 74, of Inez, was arrested April 27 on Coldwater Road on a warrant for terroristic threatening, third degree, and burglary, first degree. Deputy David Adams served the warrant at 7:59 p.m.

Sherry Gordon, 49, of Lovely, and Martin Cline, 62, of Lovely, were arrested April 24 on KY 1439 in Pilgrim on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine) (complicity), and tampering with physical evidence (complicity).

According to the arrest report, deputies stopped a white Toyota Avalon after Cline, the driver, allegedly crossed the yellow line. During the stop, deputies allegedly found drug paraphernalia belonging to Gordon inside the vehicle.
Officers removed Gordon and Cline from the car and seated them at a church picnic table. They then searched the vehicle, according to the report, but found no drugs.
Gordon was cited for drug paraphernalia, and both she and Cline were released.
After the pair left, deputies checked behind the picnic table to see whether anything had been discarded there, the report states. They reportedly found a plastic baggie containing suspected methamphetamine.
Rather than immediately collecting the baggie, deputies left it in place and photographed it, according to the report. One officer then positioned himself across the road on School House Hollow to watch whether Gordon and Cline would return.
About 15 to 20 minutes later, Gordon and Cline returned to the church area in a different vehicle as back-seat passengers, the report states. Cline allegedly told deputies that Greg Cornett had gotten out of the vehicle to look for a ring Gordon had “lost.”
A deputy then checked whether the suspected methamphetamine was still where deputies had left it. According to the report, the baggie was gone.
Deputies searched the vehicle, which they identified as belonging to Trish Moore, the driver who brought Gordon and Cline back to the area but found no drugs inside.
Officers then walked about 120 feet behind the car. They found the missing baggie of suspected methamphetamine in a ditch on the passenger side, where Cline had been sitting, according to the report.
The report states Moore and Cornett told deputies the suspected methamphetamine belonged to Cline and Gordon and that Cline had thrown it from the window.

Terry L. Singer, 20, of Somerset, Ohio, was arrested April 24 on North Wolf Creek Road on a charge of alcohol intoxication in a public place, first and second offense. Constable Brad Preece responded to a complaint to dispatch about a man walking up and down the road in and out of traffic. According to the police report, Singer told the officer that he was just trying to get a few things off his mind and he had “been drinking some.” Preece reported that Singer had a small bottle of 99-proof Bananas liquor and was unable to follow directions or pass a field sobriety test.

Heather Kay Mollett, 35, of Inez, was arrested April 23 on Calloway Road in Tomahawk on an indictment warrant from Lawrence Circuit Court. Sheriff Kirk served the warrant at 7:35 p.m.

Kyle Edward Safford, 35, of Inez, was arrested April 23 on Callow Road in Tomahawk on a warrant from Johnson Circuit Court charging him with possession of a controlled substance, first degree and first offense (methamphetamine), and public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol). Sheriff Kirk served the warrant at 7:35 p.m.

Tiffany Taylor, 46, of Huntington, West Virginia, was arrested April 22 on Court Street on a complaint warrant charging her with criminal abuse, second degree, child 12 or under, and two counts of knowingly reporting child abuse falsely. Deputy Andrew Chapman served the warrant.

Alexandria Destin Moore, 34, of Warfield, was arrested April 21 at Dempsey Housing on a bench warrant from Johnson District Court for a traffic violation. Deputy Zach Waller served the warrant at 8:15 p.m.
