John Rass Maynard
1962—2026

John Rass Maynard, 63, of Catlettsburg, passed away March 7, 2026, at his residence.

Born Oct. 25, 1962, in Beauty, he was the son of the late Jessie and Parlee (Scott) Maynard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clark Maynard and Stephen Maynard.

He is survived by his wife, Dedra (Mills) Maynard of Catlettsburg, two sons, Jonathan Ray (Heather) Maynard and Justin Paul Maynard, both of Ashland; two brothers, Gary Maynard of Versailles and Jessie Maynard Jr. of Inez; and two sisters, Peggy Marcum of Lovely and Shelby Jean “Jeanie” Harmon of South Carolina. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, John Sawyer Maynard, Tessa Marie Maynard, Jayci Woods and Natalie Woods, and one grandson on the way, Justin Michael John Maynard.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 12 p.m. at the Crum Funeral Home in Inez with Paul Crisp officiating. Burial will follow at the Maynard Cemetery in Beauty. Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday, March 10, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
