Braxton Keathley surpasses 3,000-point mark

INEZ — Braxton Keathley continues to etch his name into Kentucky high school basketball history. The Martin County superstar surpassed the 3,000-point mark for his varsity career Feb. 26 during the 57th District championship, adding another milestone to an already remarkable résumé.

Keathley, a highly coveted Division I recruit and widely regarded as one of the top players in the state, is putting together one of the most prolific scoring seasons in Kentucky. He is averaging 33 points per game, ranking second in the state.

The junior guard has been as efficient as he has been explosive, shooting 56.9% from the field while connecting on 47.4% of his 3-point attempts. He averages 3.6 made 3-pointers per game.

Keathley has poured in 991 points this season, accounting for a significant portion of Martin County’s offensive production.
