
INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests and citations.

Eric P. Mollett, 50, was arrested Feb. 27 on Middle Fork Road in Inez on charges of fleeing or evading police, first degree (motor vehicle), wanton endangerment, first degree (police officer), operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, fourth or greater (aggravated circumstance) and improper use of left lane overtaking vehicle.
The Sheriff’s Office reports that Mollett was driving on the wrong side of the four-lane on Route 645 and almost hit a deputy head-on. When the deputy attempted to stop Mollett, he continued to the intersection of Routes 645 and 40, where he turned left and drove straight into the guardrail.
At that point, police said, Mollett attempted to ram the police cruiser. He then fled on Route 645 to Middle Fork Road, where he crashed a second time at the Martin County REACT building. Officers took him into custody there.

Donald Keith Harris, 45, was arrested Feb. 28 on Old Route 3/Buffalo Horn in Inez on a bench warrant. Sheriff Kirk served the warrant.
In addition to making arrests, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office issued citations for criminal littering to three individuals.
Criminal littering
Helen Jude of Inez was cited after deputies investigated a complaint that she had not paid her garbage pickup bill. According to the citation, a deputy responding to Jude’s residence on Gordon Maynard Road allegedly found “stuff all over the yard and garbage behind the house.”
Misty Dawn Keller and Tommy Reed of Rockcastle Road in Inez were each cited for criminal littering Feb. 18 after deputies investigated a similar complaint regarding an unpaid garbage pickup bill.
According to the citation, the responding deputy reported that “there is trash all over the hillside in front of the residence by the road.”
All individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
