INEZ — A Mingo County man is facing a felony drug charge after the Martin Circuit Court filed a case against him Feb. 27 under Kentucky’s Rocket Docket program.
David L. Williamson, 64, of Williamson, West Virginia, stands accused of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree, first offense (methamphetamine), a Class D felony punishable by one to three years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
According to the information, police found Williamson in possession of methamphetamine Dec. 30, 2025. Records from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office show Williamson was a passenger in a vehicle that crashed into a concrete barrier surrounding the gas pumps at Horn’s BP in Tomahawk.
The Commonwealth Attorney filed the charge under the Rocket Docket program, an expedited, grant-funded initiative designed to resolve non-violent, felony drug cases quickly. The program allows offenders to enter substance abuse treatment, often reducing jail stays and costs.
Editor’s note: All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
