Tucker Wolford is missing in Mingo County.

BEN CREEK, W.Va. — A search is underway for a 12-year-old boy missing from the Ben Creek community in Mingo County.

Mingo County Sheriff Joe Smith is requesting the public’s help in locating Tucker Wolford. The boy was last seen Sunday morning as he entered a wooded area on Dotson Hollow near his home, where recent flash flooding washed away a portion of the dirt road.

Wolford was wearing a black tee-shirt and a gray Under Armour hoodie. He may be carrying a camouflage jacket and a gray backpack. He was not wearing his prescription glasses.

The boy is 5 feet tall, weighs approximately 100 pounds, and has medium brown hair.

Wolford is the son of Carter and Debra Wolford.

Officials urge anyone with any information to contact Mingo County 911 at 304-235-8511. If efforts are unsuccessful overnight to locate Wolford and you wish to volunteer to participate in a rescue search Monday, call the Mingo County Sheriff’s Department at 304-235-0300 or Mingo County 911.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
