Alene Sartin McCloud
1948—2022

Alene Sartin McCloud, 74, passed away peacefully Aug. 10, 2022, at her residence.

Born June 6, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Earl Sartin and Virdie Polly Sartin (Née Belcher) of Kermit, W.Va. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Lottie Sartin and brother Jemming “Bo” Sartin.

Alene spent most of her life in Wayne, W.Va., as a homemaker surrounded by her mother, siblings and three children. In 2005 she moved to Lorain, Ohio, where she spent the remainder of her life. Alene loved to attend church, spend time with family and travel. She will be remembered for her love of singing, puzzling, going to bingo, listening to Christian music and bluegrass, and drawing. Alene was a bright light in all the lives of those who knew her.

She is survived by her husband Frank Thomas McCloud; children Roger Sartin, Angela Sartin and Plynia (Jason) Adkins; grandchildren Christopher Sartin, Ashley Sartin, Brianna English and Kayla (Zachary) Adkins; great-grandchildren Alexander Roy Adkins and Ashton Thomas Scott Adkins; sisters Geraldine (Ira) Hill, Madeline Robertson, Nelly (Basil) Bragg, Betty Sartin and Peggy (Jack Ross) Sartin; and brother Melvin Sartin. Many nieces, nephews and cousins loved her.

The family will receive guests 7-9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2022, at Warfield Church of God and at 11 a.m. Aug. 20, 2022, until services at 1 p.m., where Preacher Anthony Sartin will officiate. Alene will be laid to rest at Brewer-Sartin Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
