Delbarton man charged with malicious wounding in Mingo County shooting

DELBARTON, W.Va. — A 68-year-old Delbarton man faces felony charges following a shooting Sunday, Feb. 15, in Mingo County.

According to the West Virginia State Police Williamson detachment, a trooper responded to Logan Regional Medical Center after receiving a report of a man being treated for a gunshot wound.

Investigators allege that Keith Harvey McCoy, 68, of Delbarton, shot the victim in the Day Star Road area of Mingo County.

Troopers said the victim, who was not identified, is in stable condition.

McCoy faces one count of malicious wounding and one count of prohibited person with a firearm (habitual user).

Authorities said McCoy was arraigned in Mingo County Magistrate Court and released on bond.
