First State Bank Players of the Week: Dials and Harless

INEZ — Bryson Dials and Sophie Harless are the First State Bank Players of the Week.

Monday night’s forecast included a downpour on the Pike Central hill. Dials made it rain on his way to a new school-record 13 3-pointers. He finished with a scorching 49 points in the 113-86 win. Dials went 13-of-19 from deep and 17-of-23 overall. He grabbed six rebounds, dished out six assists and swiped five steals.

Dials joined the 1000-point club in a 93-77 win over Paintsville. He fired in a team-high 36 points. The sophomore went on a 14-0 run to finish the game for the Cards. He also had four rebounds, four assists and five steals.

On Feb. 15, Dials hit for 18 points in a 93-80 win over Hazard. He knocked down four treys and added three rebounds and three assists.

Dials was detrimental in a game that secured the top seed in the 57th District against Johnson Central Friday night. He had an all-around game with 10 points, four rebounds, five assists and three steals.

Dials also made a key play to cut the deficit in the final seconds to send the Cards into the 57th District Tournament as the No. 1 seed.

Harless was monumental in a 57-54 comeback win over Clinton County on Saturday. She fired in a career-high six triples, including two in the fourth quarter to fuel a 12-0 run to seal the win for the Lady Cards.

Harless finished with 18 points on 6-9 shooting and grabbed eight boards off the glass. She also dished out three assists.

Harless also connected on a triple in her senior night 55-41 win over Morgan County on Feb. 16.
