Marvin Anthony Strunk
1972—2026

Marvin Anthony Strunk, 53, of Kermit, West Virginia, passed away Feb. 9, 2026, at his home following a brief illness.

Born March 11, 1972, in Logan, West Virginia, he was the son of Marvin and Geneva Strunk. Marvin was a coal miner for many years and enjoyed sports such as baseball and basketball.

He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Joannell Strunk, who called him her “pretty boy.” He is also survived by his children, Nina and Chris Caudill, Tiffany Strunk, Anthony Strunk and his baby girl, whom he loved like his own daughter, Lilly Dingess. Marvin loved all 10 of his grandkids with all his heart. He also leaves behind his sister, Ramona Strunk and brother, Garland Strunk, both of Cleveland, Ohio. Surviving sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law include Tilton and Norma Hinkle, Jeannie and Rick Wellman, Bonnie Jarvis, and Mitchell and Alma Hinkle. Mitchell was a brother to Marvin and his deer-hunting buddy.

Marvin leaves behind many very special people whom he loved with all his heart, including his aunt, Nyoka Crank; nieces, Amanda Wellman, Amy Wellman, Ricky Wellman, Calah and Shina; and a special cousin, Selena Handshaw.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Helena Workman for her unwavering friendship, love and compassionate care, which brought immense comfort to Marvin and our family.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, at the Light House Community Church in Kermit, with Keith Brumfield, Heath Alley and Jason Hanshaw officiating. Burial followed at the Mann Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Kentucky.
