Pike grand jury returns 17 indictments: Arson, kidnapping, attempted murder

PIKEVILLE — A Pike County grand jury returned 17 indictments during its Jan. 20 session, including 15 felonies and two misdemeanors. The charges range from arson, kidnapping and attempted murder to drug trafficking, theft, fraud and traffic-related offenses.

Marty Eugene Hurley, 50, of Stopover, was indicted on felony charges of arson, three counts of kidnapping and three counts of attempted murder.

Charles Baldes, 33, of Rancho Cordova, California, was indicted on a charge of first-degree bail jumping.

Madison Balo, 31, of Virgie, has been indicted on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (TICS), trafficking marijuana, third-degree TICS and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Andrew Billinglea, 33, and Jonathan Jones, 35, both of Louisville, were each indicted on charges of first-degree TICS and first-degree persistent felony offender (PFO).

David A. Bowman, 20, of Sevierville, Tennessee, was indicted on one count of theft by unlawful taking (TBUT).

Banger Cantrell, 55, of Belfry, stands indicted on a charge of first-degree bail jumping.

Henry Cleaver, 48, of Elkhorn City, has been indicted on multiple charges that include first-degree TICS, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and first-degree PFO.

Jonathan Galloway, 46, of Pikeville, was indicted on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, DUI third, driving suspended first, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and no seat belt.

Richard May, 60, of Pikeville, stands indicted on charges of first-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree terroristic threatening, and two counts of second-degree criminal mischief.

Brandy Meadows, 47, of Pikeville, has been indicted on three counts of assistance program fraud and theft by deception.

Bryce Layne May, 58, of Asheville, North Carolina, was indicted on a single charge of theft by deception.

Glenn Moore, 61, of Bevinsville, has been indicted on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Timothy Mullins, 36, of Pikeville, was indicted on multiple charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, DUI first, no insurance, no seat belt, failure to notify of address change, driving suspended, possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving, and failure to produce an insurance card.

Calvin Risner, 66, of Prestonsburg, was indicted on a misdemeanor charge of TBUT and failure to signal.

Carly Slone, 45, of Elkhorn City, has been indicted on assistance program fraud and second-degree PFO.

Joannah Stump, 38, of Pikeville, stands indicted on charges of DUI fourth, resisting arrest, and DUI suspended first.

Zachary Trivette, 34, of Pikeville, was arrested on charges of DUI second, no insurance and driving without a license.
