INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Frankie Lee Maynard, 49, was arrested Monday on charges of possession of a controlled substance, first degree, first offense (drug unspecified). Deputy J.C. Kirk made the arrest.

Danese Deon Chaffins, 34, of Lovely, was arrested Monday on Long Branch Road in Lovely on an indictment warrant from Martin County. Her charges include two counts of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree (opiates), possession of a controlled substance in the first degree (fentanyl), possession of marijuana, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, first offense within 10 years. Deputy J.C. Kirk made the arrest at 4:22 p.m.

Patrick M. Gibbs, 48, of Pilgrim, was arrested Monday on Holty Road in Pilgrim on a bench warrant from Floyd District Court for a traffic violation. Deputy J.C. Kirk served the warrant around 2:16 p.m.

Frankie Maynard, 49, of Pilgrim, was arrested Monday on Dans Branch in Pilgrim on an indictment warrant from Floyd County charging him with possession of a controlled substance, first degree, first offence. Deputy J.C. Kirk served the warrant around 12:32 p.m.

Jason K. Fields, 41, of Inez, was arrested Jan. 16 on Court Street in Inez on two indictment warrants from Martin County charging him with bail jumping, first degree. Deputy Jameson Wall served the warrants around 7:30 p.m.

Amos Ray Evans, 50, of Lovely, was arrested Jan. 16 on Court Street in Inez on an indictment warrant from Martin County charging him with possession of a controlled substance, first degree, first offense (methamphetamine). Deputy Wall served the warrant around 7:50 p.m.

Judy Faye Pauley, 63, of Inez, was arrested Jan. 15 on Bandmill Road in Inez on an indictment warrant charging her with trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree (fentanyl)-complicity, trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree over 2 grams (methamphetamine)-complicity, and trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree less than 10 dosage units (opioids)-complicity. Deputy J.C. Kirk served the warrant around 6:27 p.m.

Clarence Shane Pauley, 41, of Inez, was arrested Jan. 15 on Bandmill Road in Inez on an indictment warrant charging him with trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree (fentanyl)-complicity, trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree over 2 grams (methamphetamine)-complicity, and trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree less than 10 dosage units (opioids)-complicity. Deputy J.C. Kirk served the warrant around 6:27 p.m.

Willis Gene Horn, 35, of Inez, was arrested Jan. 15 on E. Main Street in Inez on two indictment warrants from Martin County charging him with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, fleeing/evading in the first degree, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, first offense, two counts of possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, three counts of wanton endangerment in the second degree and reckless driving. Deputy J.C. Kirk served the warrants around 6:51 p.m.

Brett Waller, 41, of Lovely, was arrested Jan. 16 on E. Court Street in Inez on an indictment warrant from Martin County charging him with fleeing/evading in the second degree (on foot). Deputy Wall served the warrant around 2:01 a.m.

Arlie Bowen Jr., 52, of Lovely, was arrested Jan. 15 on Long Branch Road in Lovely on a charge of assault fourth degree (domestic violence), minor injury. Deputies responded to a residence on Long Branch shortly before 1 p.m. in reference to an alleged assault between Bowen and a female. According to the police report, the female stated she and Bowen got into a verbal altercation and he pushed her, causing her to fall. The deputy noted the female had injuries on her hands and arm.

Roy K. Goble, 50, of Pilgrim, was arrested Jan. 15 on Riverfront Road in Lovely on an indictment warrant from Martin County charging him with bail jumping first degree. Deputy J.C. Kirk served the warrant around 8:05 p.m.

Joshua Moore, 27, of Inez, was arrested Jan. 15 on an indictment warrant charging him with bail jumping in the first degree. Deputy J.C. Kirk served the warrant around 8:05 p.m.

Nikita Marie Vanhoose, 39, of Inez, was arrested Jan. 13 at Bill Stepp Bottom in Inez on a charge of theft by deception (cold checks $1,000-$10,000). Deputy Wall served a warrant on Vanhoose around 8:48 p.m. that alleges Vanhoose took three checks to Evans Hardware in Inez to cash for amounts of $1,108.20, $369.40, and $93.40. All three checks from Mountain Comprehensive Care Center were returned due to “stop payment,” the warrant states. Vanhoose reportedly refused to pay for these checks after being notified by phone and certified mail.

Carrie Dunlow, 54, of Inez, was arrested Jan. 13 on Spruce Pine in Inez on a warrant charging her with third-degree burglary. Deputy Wall served the warrant around 8:21 p.m. According to court records, Dunlow allegedly walked into Amber Barwick’s home, removed numerous items and refused to return them. She reportedly admitted to making the statement, “Doesn’t feel good to be stole from, does it?”
In addition to arrests, deputies served criminal complaint summons as follows:
Ashley Stewart, 42, of Kermit, West Virginia, received a criminal complaint summons Jan. 17 at Warfield Tobacco in Warfield. Charges include unlawful transaction with a minor, third degree, and criminal possession of a forged instrument, third degree. Deputy Trenton Yaunk served Stewart at 4 p.m.
Kevin M. Litton, 36, of Tomahawk, received a criminal complaint summons Jan. 18 at Spence Branch in Tomahawk charging him with theft of services. Deputy Yaunk served Litton around 2:45 p.m.
Steven Howell, 39, of Inez, received a criminal complaint summons Jan. 18 in the sheriff’s booking room charging him with theft of services. Deputy Yaunk served Howell at 7:19 p.m.
Ashley Dingus Horn, 35, of Inez, received two criminal complaint summonses Jan. 18 from Floyd County charging her with theft by unlawful taking or disposition all others and harassment. Deputy J.C. Kirk and Deputy Wall served the complaints.
