WARFIELD — An Inez man went to jail Friday after a Kentucky State Police trooper said he discovered marijuana and prescription pills during a traffic stop at Firehouse Lane in Warfield.
Donald Ray Perkins, 41, was taken into custody around 11:37 a.m. by KSP Post 9 Trooper Spencer, who reported detecting a strong odor of marijuana while speaking with him.
According to the arrest report, Perkins acknowledged possessing a small amount of marijuana. A search also turned up 27½ yellow pills marked “TEVA/3526.27″ in an unlabeled pill bottle in his pants pocket. Perkins allegedly identified the pills as “Valium.”
Perkins faces nine offenses. Those include possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, operating a vehicle on a suspended or revoked license, failure to maintain required insurance/security, no registration receipt, improper registration plate, improper display of registration plates, failure to produce an insurance card and failure to register the transfer of a motor vehicle.
