
Larry ‘Frank’ Brumfield Sr.
1952—2026
Larry “Frank” Brumfield Sr., age 73, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by family, Jan. 13, 2026.
He was born March 2, 1952, he was the son of the late Lafayette and Lillian Brumfield.
Frank was a faithful member of Neely Branch Church, where he served as a devoted deacon for 42 years. His faith and service were central to his life, and he was known for his steady commitment to his church and community.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings William “Bud” Brumfield, Elden Brumfield, Jack Vance, Teddy Brumfield, Carol Meade, Rose Bickford, Leola Stout, Betty Sheppard and Ethel Brumfield.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Billie Brumfield; his children, Kim (Jerry) Sturgell, Larry (Maggie) Brumfield, Darian Brumfield (Margaret Marie) amd Marty (Tracy) Brumfield, and his sisters-in-law, Leila Brumfield and Sue Brumfield. He is also survived by his brother, Chester (Theda) Brumfield, and many nieces and nephews.
Frank was a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren and a great-grampy to 17 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy.
He deeply loved his family and enjoyed going to church, spending time in the hills hunting with his children and grandchildren, and being a playful prankster. Frank took great pleasure in watching his family laugh and enjoy the jokes he loved to share. He will be remembered for his faith, his devotion to family, his humor and the quiet strength with which he lived his life.
Pallbearers: Larry Brumfield, Marty Brumfield, Jerry Sturgell, Chris Gillman, Nathaniel Sturgell and Jacob Sturgell. Honorary pallbearers: Walker Sturgell and Liam Brumfield.
Services were conducted Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, at the Neely Branch Church with Russell Ball and Mikey Bryant officiating. Burial followed at the Newsome Ridge Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
