Tug Valley runs past Tolsia 93-31

GLENHAYES, W.Va. — Tug Valley jumped out to a 25-5 lead after one quarter and continued to sprint past regional rival Tolsia 93-31 Saturday night at Rebel Arena.

The second quarter was even worse for the home team. The Panthers clawed the Rebels 29-2 to take a commanding 54-7 lead into the dressing room at halftime.

Coach Garland “Rabbit” Thompson was able to play several reserves in the contest.

Braydun Ferris led the scoring with 20 points as all five starters got into double figures. Zade Rash was next in line with 15, while Preston May scored 12, Carson Newsome 11 and Cam Slone 10. Newsome dished out five assists and Ferris handed out four assists.

Braxton Farley scored seven off the bench, Leyton Brumfield netted six, Jackson Jewell four, Aiden Copleand and Bryson Richardson both scored three and Aidan Fleming added two.

Tug Valley held Tolsia to 24% field goal percentage in the game and forced 18 turnovers against the Rebels.

The Panthers shot 44% from the field, including 13-34 from behind the arc for 38%. They were 12-18 at the foul line for 67%. Ferris made four treys, while Rash swished in 3 from long distance.

Dakota Blackburn was the only Tolsia player in double figures scoring 13 points.

Tug Valley, ranked No. 1 in Class A, improved to 7-2 on the season.

Tolsia dropped to 2-11.

The Panthers have beaten rival Tolsia 14 games in a row going back six seasons.
