INEZ — Martin County Coroner Chris Todd has a new deputy coroner. Russ Blair started work Thursday.

Blair, 55, lives in Tomahawk with his wife Kim. They have raised a daughter and son.

“Years ago, when I was young, I got experience working at a funeral home in Paintsville,” Blair said.

Todd says Blair had asked for a job for years and was available to fill the vacancy.

“He will be there to help when we need him,” Todd says. “I want to do what’s right for the citizens and have someone available all the time.”

Blair said he looked forward to the new job and added, “It’s going to be different.”
